Sigiriya
SIGIRIYA
Sigiriya is situated in Dambulla in sri lanka. Now it is listed as a worls herutage site by UNESCO. The king kashyapa built his fortress to avoid from his father to get the king ship Moggallana was angry about it. So king kashyapa ran away to Dambulla to avoid from hus elder brother.
He saw a large rock and be decidered to build a fortress on the top of the rock. The entrance is just like a lion's mouth so it is called as "sigiriya" or "sinhagiriya". There is a stair case since down to the top of the rock created by our forefathers. The surrounding is very attractive and beautiful.
There is a mirror wall middle of the rock. It has written graffity by fore fathers. It is an amazing place to visit. The another most important thing is, there are sigiriya frescoes has drawn beside the rock. The most foreigners and local tourists like to visit them than other places.
We can see the ruins of old fortress built by king kashyapa. The surrounding is very pleasent on the top of the rock. It is a world heritage and a favourite tourists destination in sri Lanka.
So we must protect our heritage of the future. ❤
